The Team at The Wakefield Inn & Restaurant
Executive Chef & General Manager Sabin Beckwith was taught cooking skills at an early age by his Grandmother Lucy Beckwith, a local chef from the Moosehead Lake area. He spent many mornings and evenings in the kitchens his grandmother prepared food for and it is where his love of sharing food and entertaining began.
Over the years Sabin was employed by companies such as Disney, Cracker Barrel and a few other popular Maine restaurants and catering companies before settling at Province Lake Golf, our sister property in Parsonsfield, Maine.
A terrible fire brought complete devastation to PLG in 2018, however Sabin and his culinary team worked through the tragedy to launch The Carriage House Bistro and Tavern, a staple in it’s local community and the 100+ year tradition at PLG continued.
Working with a talented culinary team, we operate under the philosophy that food is meant to be shared with friends and family and work to create that environment in the events and other restaurants our company operates as well as our new venture at The Inn.
We strive for a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, one we hope you can’t wait to get to but are in no hurry to leave.
The first day the PLG team walked the Wakefield Inn property we had a vision of a fantastic dining and lodging venue nestled within a great community and are excited to see it come to life.
